SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria 2018

SSC Stenographer Eligibility criteria are mainly divided into three parts. Before applying the online application candidates are highly advised to check their Nationality,  educational qualification, and age limit. If any applicant failed to fulfill the given below eligibility criteria will be not be considered and his/her form will be rejected/canceled.

1. Nationality/ Citizenship

  • Candidate must be either a citizen of India/Nepal/Bhutan.
  • Candidates must be a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • Candidates must be a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Zanzibar and Tanganyika), Zaire, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

2. Age Limit

Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years as on 01-01-2019 (i.e. candidates born on or after 02-01-1989 and born before or on 01-01-2001)

Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 18-27 years as on 01-01-2019 (i.e. candidates born on or after 02-01-1992 and born before or on 01-01-2001)

SSC Stenographer Educational Qualification

To apply for the posts of (Grade C and D) SSC Stenographer 2018, Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University. How to Apply for SSC Stenographer 2018?

  • Candidate should read the read the instruction given in the Notice of Examination carefully before filling up the application form.
  • Go to>Apply>Stenographer.
  • Candidates should now move to the Registration Part and fill the online application form with basic information like name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, permanent address, category, etc.
  • On submission of these details, candidates shall be prompted to check the details and make any correction in the registration.
  • After the submission of the Application Form, you will be provided with a Registration ID and password. Note it down safely (will be used later anything regarding changes or when downloading admit card).
  • Now candidates are required to pay the application fee and upload their latest color signature and photograph. The Photographs size must be more than 4 kB and less than 12 kB. The signature must be uploaded in JPG format and the size of the signature file must be between 1 kB and less than 12 kB.
  • Request for change/correction in any particulars in the Application Form, once submitted will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  • The application form without signature/photograph or with Blurred photograph/signature or
    incomplete in any manner will be rejected summarily
  • Candidates should now take out a print out of the filled application.

SSC Stenographer Application Fee

  • Candidates are required to make a payment of Rs. 100/- (either by cash or card)during filling the online application.
  • Fee can be paid through SBI Challan / SBI Net banking or through credit/ debit cards of any bank.
  • To pay the fee in cash, candidates should take print-out of the challan generated online after completion of Application Part and deposit the requisite fee in the designated branch of State Bank of India and then continue with further filling the form within the given date and time.
  • The last to date submit online application fee is 21st November 2018 (5.00PM).
  • However, candidates who wish to make the payment through challan of SBI, may make the payment at designated branches of SBI within the working hours of bank up to 26-11-2018 provided the challan has been generated by them before 21-11-2018 (5.00 PM).
  • After your successful payment, your application will be complete and will be accepted provisionally.

Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Persons with disability and Ex-servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted (free for them) from payment of the fee. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

SSC Stenographer 2018 Admit Card

The commission will release the SSC Stenographer 2018 Admit Card on the official website before 10 to 15 days of examination. SSC Stenographer Exam will be in 2 phases. SSC Stenographer Paper I (Computer Based) Examination Details

SSC Stenographer Paper I is divided into three categories which will be a Computer Based Examination and the total marks in this paper is 200. There will be 200 questions which means each question is equal to 1 mark. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer, therefore, candidates are advised to keep this in mind while answering the question. The entire paper will of objective type (multiple choice question. The questions will be in both Hindi & English except part III.

SSC Stenographer Skill Test Details

Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks in the computer-based Examination will be called by the Commission for the SSC Stenographer Skill Test. The commission may also prescribe qualifying marks in each part of Examination. The skill test will be of qualifying nature and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the skill test for different categories of candidates. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade D and 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade C.
